Serves - 4
INGREDIENTS:
Butter (4-5 Small Cubes)
Vegetable Oil/Mustard Oil (2 tbps)
350 gms Paneer
Cumin Seeds (1 tsp)
2 Large Finely Chopped Onions
Ginger & Garlic Paste (8 Cloves Garlic & 2 Small Pieces of Ginger)
3 Finely Chopped Green Chilli
Turmeric Powder (1 1/2 tsp)
Coriander Powder (2 tbps)
4-5 Medium Size Tomatoes for Pureed
Jeera Powder (2 tbps)
Red Chilli Powder (1 1/2 tsp)
Green Peas Fresh or Frozen (Medium Sized Bowl)
Salt (As per your taste)
A few Coriander Leaves for garnishing
Kasuri Methi (1 tsp)
Makhana (10 - 12 Pieces)
Garam Masala (1 tsp)
Maggie Masala (1 tsp)
MATAR PANEER RECIPE:
Preparation of Fried Paneer
1. Heat a Pan with 2 small cubes of butter
2. Add Paneer
3. Cook until Paneer turns Golden Brown
1. Pour 2 tbps oil in Pan
2. Add Butter
3. Add Cumin Seeds
4. Next add Chopped Onions and fry until they turn transparent
5. Add Green Chilli and Ginger-Garlic Paste
6. Mix well until it turns and changes its color
7. Add turmeric and coriander powder
8. Pour the pureed tomato mixture
9. Add Jeera and Red Chilli Powder
10. Keep stirring to prevent burning
11. Add Green Peas. If using fresh peas, boil them until tender in a pot, drain and use. If using frozen peas then you can rinse and use.
12. Pour 2 Cups of Water. Mix well to make a gravy. Add more water if needed.
13. Add Salt (As per your taste).
14. Mix and cover the Pan. Cook on a medium heat until the gravy thickens and traces of oil appear over the gravy.
15. Add Fried Paneer and Mix Well.
16. Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and add Kasuri Methi (Fenugreek)
17. Add some Makhana (Fox Nut) to give a different taste to your Matar Paneer
18. Cook just for 2-3 minutes.
19. Add Garam Masala and Maggie Masala (If you like the taste).
20. For the toppings, take 50 gm paneer and grate it.
21. Serve Matar Paneer with Rice, Chapati or Paratha
